Kadant Lamort is a subsidiary of Kadant INC and the global research center for one of its divisions, which accounts for over 40% of its turnover. We develop, manufacture, and market capital equipment, processes, and global solutions for industry, particularly the paper industry. We provide commercial cover for the whole world except for China and North America.
Our business, like the one of the Group, is driven by the need to recycle, use bio-resources, reclaim waste, and manage water, to reduce energy consumption and the associated harmful emissions. We are a global research center with 3,500+ people working in different departments and divisions. Our division focuses on fiber recovery and treatment, industrial waste, and process water recovery activities. Our R&D department works and innovates daily on issues such as replacing plastic with bio-sourced biomaterials, recycling, water management, energy consumption optimization, Industry 4.0 challenges, and so on.
Our research team can also draw on a technology center, equipped with semi-industrial-scale pilots and an expert laboratory, which as well as being a showroom, enables us to innovate, carry out validation tests in partnership with our customers, incubate start-ups, and welcome inventors.
Your Job will include:
- Reporting to the Technology and Innovations Director, this R&D position requires solid scientific knowledge, creativity, rigor, analytical mind, ability to summarise reports, motivation, and availability.
- You will be responsible for R&D projects focusing on the above-mentioned subjects.
- You will be an inventor and have the opportunity to apply for patents.
- You will be involved from the earliest design phase till the final development of new products and solutions. Depending on what you contribute, you can become an inventor.
- You will be responsible for the follow-up, start-up, and acceptance of projects under the responsibility of the Technology and Innovation Center.
- You will produce or design technical design documents, specifications, calculation and sizing sheets, trial reports, etc.
- You will be a part of and be responsible for pilot, plant, or laboratory tests.
- You will provide support during the commercial launch of the product.
