Lucart grows in Hungary and expands the Nyergesújfalu plant


The inauguration ceremony of the new warehouse dedicated to the storage of finished products took place on July 15th at the Lucart plant in Nyergesújfalu. The ceremony was attended by numerous national and local authorities: the Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó, the Secretary of State Pál Völner, the mayor of Nyergesújfalu Magdolna Mihelik, the director of Hipa Robert Esik and the new Ambassador of Italy to Hungary H.E. Manuel Jacoangeli.

The plant, built by Lucart in 2018, is dedicated to the converting of paper jumbo rolls into hygiene products such as towels, toilet paper, kitchen towels, etc … especially for the Away from Home market, employs about 90 people and reached a turnover exceeding 17 million euros of which 25% due to export sales. The doubling of the storage area of ​​the finished product warehouses, that reaches now 10,000 m2 following the recent expansion, will be important for compliance with the growth plans established by the Lucart Group for the Central-Eastern European markets and to keep the highest level of service possible for customers.

The investment of about 2.65 million euros was partially financed by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade through a tender dedicated to increasing competitiveness.

The visit was also an opportunity to observe the new automatic palletizing robots installed on the production lines.
