Dr. Stefan Kampmann will become the new Chief Technology Officer of the Voith Group

Voith appoints Dr. Stefan Kampmann, most recently CTO of the Osram Group, as Chief Technology Officer and member of the Corporate Board of Management. He will start on December 1st in the responsibility for Digital Ventures. In his role, he will report directly to Dr. Toralf Haag, CEO of the Voith Group.

“We are delighted that Dr. Stefan Kampmann will become part of our global management team. We are convinced that his experience and knowledge will assist us in advancing our digital and technological transformation. Furthermore, his appointment to the Corporate Board of Management highlights the great importance of Digital Ventures to our transformation process,” emphasizes Prof. Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Shareholders’ Committee and Supervisory Board at Voith. Kampmann, who holds a doctorate in engineering, has extensive experience in managing large R&D units and in driving company-wide innovation processes. At Osram, he was instrumental in the technological transformation of the company.

“For us, digitalization is a megatrend that we are consistently focusing on as part of our corporate strategy. We are continuously expanding our core business to include digital offers and driving our own digital transformation forward. At the same time, we are eager to explore new areas of business and to develop disruptive business models, or to incorporate these in the portfolio through acquisitions. Digital Ventures continues to play a central role here,” states Dr. Toralf Haag.

In his new role as CTO of the Voith Group, Kampmann will promote the company’s technological development. Digital Ventures will be directly in his responsibility and is planned to be no longer a separate Group Division in future, but a corporate function. The three core Group Divisions Hydro, Paper, and Turbo are responsible for the marketing of digital offers and services, while research and development in the field of digital offers and services, as well as venture activities and corporate-wide IT, are bundled in Digital Ventures.

Dr. Stefan Kampmann, born in 1963, joined Osram Licht AG as CTO and member of the Managing Board in 2016, where he was responsible for the areas of research and development as well as technology and innovation. The graduate physicist with a doctorate in engineering began his career in 1994 at Robert Bosch GmbH, where he was initially involved in research topics in the automotive sector, before taking on business sector responsibility in the areas of power electronics, sensor technology, and semiconductor components. Most recently he was Executive Vice President of the Gasoline Systems division.
