MIAC 2026 is just around the corner. From 7 to 9 October, the Polo Fiere Exhibition Centre in Lucca, Italy will once again bring together machinery and plant manufacturers, suppliers of technologies, products and services, paper mills, tissue converting companies and industry professionals from all over the world.
Now in its thirty-second edition, MIAC is the international specialised event entirely dedicated to the paper industry. The 2026 edition follows the record-breaking 2025 event, which welcomed more than 6,000 professional visitors and sold out all available exhibition space.
The entire supply chain in one event
Around 250 exhibiting companies will present machinery, plants, automation, components, chemicals, energy systems, control instruments, digital technologies, services, and solutions covering the entire production cycle: from stock preparation to the paper machine, and from finishing and handling to tissue converting and packaging technologies.
This concentration of expertise enables visitors to compare solutions from leading international suppliers, assess new technologies and discuss the technical, production and economic aspects of future investments directly with manufacturers.
“Those who work in paper mills every day can find at MIAC an opportunity that is difficult to replicate elsewhere,” says Gianmaria Pfeiffer, Head of MIAC. “In just three days, it is possible to meet many international companies specialised in technologies, products and services for the paper industry and tissue converting, and speak directly with those who develop the solutions used every day in production facilities.”
Innovation and direct interaction
Decarbonisation, lower energy consumption, digitalisation, automation, predictive maintenance, safety, and sustainability are among the main challenges facing the paper industry. Many exhibitors choose MIAC to present new products and technological developments designed to improve efficiency and product quality while reducing the environmental impact of industrial processes.
At the same time, face-to-face interaction remains central to the event. Technical meetings, operational discussions, project presentations, and informal conversations at the stands often become the starting point for long-term collaborations.

Alongside the exhibition, MIAC 2026 will offer a programme of technical conferences organised in collaboration with Assocarta and Confindustria Toscana Nord. MIAC Energy, MIAC Tissue, and MIAC Chemicals will address energy management and decarbonisation, innovation in tissue production, converting technologies and new chemical solutions for greater process efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Companies, international experts, technicians, and institutional representatives will provide visitors with focused professional updates on the issues shaping the sector’s future.
Lucca and the international paper industry
Lucca in Italy lies at the heart of Europe’s leading paper district, where paper and board mills, major tissue converting companies, machinery manufacturers, component producers, engineering companies, and specialised suppliers operate side by side. This industrial ecosystem makes the city the natural setting for an event entirely dedicated to the paper industry and allows international visitors to combine the exhibition with technical visits to local companies.
Over more than thirty years, MIAC has steadily strengthened its international reach. The 2026 edition aims to consolidate this development by offering exhibitors concrete business opportunities and visitors three days of technical content, innovation, and professional exchange.
