After a successful project was realized in 2020, #IrconSolaronics was selected by the Cartiera Ermolli to improve the drying after the film sizer on their machine 1 by replacing an old hot air dryer.
Many targets for this project have been asked by the mill:
- Improving the overall efficiency of the drying equipment by reducing gas consumption
- Improving the way of drying the specialty papers produced on this machine
Better controlling the web temperature to avoid over drying the coat and therefore consume too much gas
For this project, Ircon-Solaronics:
- Installed the #UniDryer V3 technology: The UniDryer® system is by far the best non-contact dryer that offers efficient drying for specialty papers, combining both infrared and convection technology in one integrated system.
- Installed efficient #GasInfrared emitters: The Ircon-Solaronics #Gem12Hi emitters are the most efficient high intensity emitters on the market which results in a lower gas consumption
#WebTemperatureControl: optical pyrometers have been installed after the UniDryer® in order to optimize the drying and the paper quality.

- Production of new papers which were not produced on this machine
