Bergslagets Skogar outlined strategy for long-term value creation at its first Capital Markets Day

Bergslagets Skogar presented its strategy, business model and long-term value creation framework at its first Capital Markets Day in Stockholm on 3 November 2026. The event marked an important step in the preparations to separate Bergslagets Skogar from Stora Enso into a standalone listed company, subject to customary approvals.

The separation is intended to accelerate shareholder value creation by unlocking the full potential of two more focused businesses. As separate companies, Bergslagets Skogar and Stora Enso would each be better positioned to pursue their core strengths and market opportunities.

Bergslagets Skogar would offer investors exposure to a distinctive, high-quality asset base of more than 1.2 million hectares of Swedish forest land, with potential for sustainable long-term value appreciation through advanced forest management and land value optimisation. For Stora Enso, the demerger would enable more focused capital allocation, reduce complexity and sharpen focus on renewable materials and packaging.

“As part of an industrial company, our forests have supported an industrial strategy. From today, the forests are our strategy. One focused company, one team, one goal: to make every hectare more valuable, and to earn your trust by delivering what we say,” said Tuomas Hallenberg, CEO, Bergslagets Skogar.

“We are building two great companies, each with sharper focus, clearer strategic priorities, and distinct investment cases,” stated Hans Sohlström, President and CEO, Stora Enso.

On 30 October 2026, Stora Enso published further information on the demerger plan, including strategic targets, dividend policy and certain preliminary, unaudited and illustrative key financial information for Bergslagets Skogar. The press release is available at storaenso.com/newsroom.
