Hinojosa keeps the EcoVadis Gold medal for the fourth consecutive year, achieving 80 points in the 2025 assessment


For the fourth consecutive year, Hinojosa Packaging Group kept the Gold medal in the EcoVadis platform, an international benchmark in the evaluation of environmental, social, ethical and sustainable purchasing practices. In the 2025 edition, the company achieved a score of 80 out of 100, which means the company is placed in 97th percentile of the world’s top-rated companies.

The new assessment reflects significant progress in almost every analysed areas, a clear statement of Hinojosa’s ongoing integration on ESG criteria in the management model.

A firm commitment to decarbonisation and environmental protection

Hinojosa achieved a score of 89 out of 100 in the “Environmental” category, which states the result of a clear strategy on this matter. The company is making steady progress in decarbonisation, energy efficiency and the development of packaging solutions with a lower environmental impact, in line with regulatory demands, global challenges and costumers’ needs.

As evidence of this, Hinojosa’s emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company is committed to achieve the Net-Zero Standard by 2050, which sets targets of reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 90% compared to 2020 levels.  This roadmap guides the group’s initiatives, as it moves towards a low-emissions industrial model and contributes directly to a more sustainable future.

An overall improvement that reinforces a responsible business model

EcoVadis recognises the strengthening of Hinojosa’s labour model, which has achieved the highest score to date in the “Labour Practices and Human Rights” section, with 83 out of 100 points. This result supports the company’s commitment in creating a safe and inclusive environment aligned with leading international standards.

One of the most noteworthy initiatives in this field was the development of performance evaluations focused on continuous improvement, and several employee benefits were also highlighted. In addition, the company is driving forward internal training programmes such as Metatop and Hi Talent, designed to develop talent, foster professional growth, and strengthen Hinojosa’s team skills.

In the ethical sphere, the company is making progress thanks to the consolidation of regulatory compliance policies, transparency and good governance. This progress translates into a score of 72 out of 100, reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical and responsible management.

Hinojosa has also achieved a significant improvement in the sustainable management of the value chain, scoring 65 points in the “Sustainable Purchases” category. Over the past year, the group has grown in supplier evaluation and monitoring criteria, and published a new responsible purchasing policy, which enhances collaboration with partners and guarantees alignment with Hinojosa’s values ​​and commitments.

The overall 2025 score of 80 points demonstrates Hinojosa’s ongoing commitment to the environment, people and governance. This recognition supports the work carried out over the past year and guides the next steps regarding sustainability criteria in the company’s strategy and developing innovative and responsible packaging solutions.
