Amid persistent tensions in the industrial wood market, exacerbated by supply difficulties linked to recent severe weather in southwestern France, Fibre Excellence has announced a temporary halt to production at its Saint-Gaudens pulp mill for two weeks, from March 16 to March 30.
“The mill’s available wood stock is currently too low to allow for continued production safely,” the company explained in its press release. “This period will be used to carry out maintenance, cleaning, and training sessions for employees. The city’s wood supply and shipping services, as well as its wastewater treatment, will remain operational.”
