Energy-efficient RunEco Turbo Blowers at Propapier PM 3

Energy-efficient, 100% water-free EP Turbo Blowers are a part of Progroup’s new sustainable paper mill.

Progroup has built a particularly sustainable and environmentally friendly paper mill in Sandersdorf-Brehna near Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt. From second half of 2020, this Voith-supplied paper machine will produce 750,000 tons of corrugated cardboard every year, 100 percent from waste paper.

Progroup is setting trends in energy efficiency and sustainability. Its sustainability strategy includes investing in innovative production technologies as well as conserving valuable resources. At the new paper machine an integrated circulating water treatment plant makes it possible to reduce the amount of fresh water that needs to be used by around 80%. In addition, the innovative production technologies ensure that CO2 emissions are reduced by 170,000 tonnes.

At Runtech, we are very proud to be included in this project with our energy-efficient, 100% water-free EP Turbo Blowers. Even under the current difficult situation with covid-19 and the travel restrictions all around Europe we completed the mechanical installation of 11pcs of EP Turbo Blowers and 3 fans in time – commissioning and testing going on now prior to the start-up scheduled for August. ReDoc, a continuous reconditioning system for cylinder and roll surfaces, was also installed on the first dryer group. ReDoc improves heat transfer to the web thus reducing energy costs.
