Brigl & Bergmeister strengthens its presence in France by signing a representation contract with EFP-Chavassieu

Brigl & Bergmeister (B&B) has signed a representation agreement with EFP-Chavassieu agency in order to strengthen its commercial presence with French customers. By relying on an agent structure, B&B wishes to consolidate its positions in the label markets and support its growth in flexible packaging with the highest level of customer service.

Created 30 years ago, EFP-Chavassieu is an agent for European paper mills and was the exclusive importing agent for the Zanders/Chromolux mill until its closure in May 2021. Frédéric Delage, its “Specialty Papers and Packaging” sales manager, will bring his experience of the labels and flex-pack market.

There will be no changes for B&B customers in terms of order management. Patricia Gaillot, previously based in France for B&B, will officially join EFP-Chavassieu next summer to form a complementary team with Frédéric Delage (photo). Dirk van den Driessche, B&B’s Sales Director for Northern Europe, will oversee the activities.

“We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with B&B, says Frédéric Delage. Since the closure of Zanders, many label customers are still looking for an alternative to Chromolux. This is what brought us closer to B&B to reach this global and ambitious agreement. We will soon have a major communication campaign on this subject”. As for Patricia Gaillot, she specified: “Backed by EFP-Chavassieu, B&B will be better structured to deal with the current post-Covid difficulties, the management of allocations, extended deadlines and tariff monitoring. But also to prepare for the future, as one of the major challenges of this collaboration is the development of speciality ranges for flex-packaging, among others.”

Brigl & Bergmeister produces and sells around 200,000 t/year of coated paper for labels and flexible packaging worldwide from its plants in Austria and Slovenia. EFP-Chavassieu sells some 120,000 t/year of uncoated packaging, graphic and speciality papers on the French market.
