Softys Perú recognised for value chain management

The Peruvian branch of the tissue producer Softys has won the Value Chains category at the Empresa con Gestión Sostenible (EGS) 2025 awards, an initiative of Perú Sostenible that evaluates companies’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance to strengthen competitiveness and recognise sustainability achievements. The distinction was based on a comprehensive assessment, grounded in internationally recognised standards and frameworks, of how companies embed these principles into their business decisions and practices.

The evaluation highlighted Softys’ work with suppliers on ethical, environmental and social matters, its quality control and raw material traceability procedures, and the customer service channels available to direct consumers, sales and distribution partners. Together, these measures translate into concrete actions across the value chain, strengthening relationships built on trust, collaboration and a shared vision.

“This recognition motivates us to keep building relationships that generate value for everyone. We believe sustainability is strengthened when we work collaboratively, share commitments and understand that every player in our chain can contribute to a positive impact. Our goal is to keep moving forward together with the people and organisations in our environment, always putting care for people at the centre of our decisions,” said María Luisa Egusquiza, Legal and Sustainability Director at Softys.

In the EGS 2025 evaluation, Softys also achieved a strong overall score, earning an “Outstanding” performance rating. This result was underpinned by strengths in corporate governance, sustainability and climate strategy, and ethics and integrity, as well as progress in employee development, circular economy initiatives through the valorisation of paper sludge, product development, and responsible supply chain management.

Softys says it will continue to integrate sustainability into its business management and to develop initiatives that generate shared value and contribute to the wellbeing of people, communities and the stakeholders it works with.
