In order to increase production, quality and safety, the Brazilian paper producer IRANI is starting a major upgrade project on PM2 in Vargem Bonita (Santa Catarina).
The modernization – which will be carried out by HERGEN – will completely replace the Drying Section, including the Monolucid Cylinder.
The package also includes a new Winder, a new Lumpbreaker Roller and improvements to the Flat Table, Press Section and Rewinder.
More production
All current Cast Iron Dryer Cylinders will be replaced by Sheet and larger Diameter Cylinders. The larger drying area, combined with the greater heat transfer of the Smart Steel Dryer Cylinders produced by HERGEN, will result in increased production.
More quality
The current Monolucent Cylinder made of cast iron with a diameter of 3,000 mm will also be replaced by a plate cylinder, with a diameter of 4,200 mm, with a smooth internal surface and condensate collector.
Monolucido metallization will be done through a special process that results in high hardness, very low porosity and excellent surface finish (super finishing). This metallization will guarantee the high quality of the final product.
More security
The Guia Corda system will have the end without a rope at strategic points, increasing operator safety.
