Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, will modernize the cooking system at its Kemi bioproduct mill in Finland in cooperation with international technology group Andritz. The modernised cooking system is scheduled to start up during the fourth quarter of 2026.
“The modernisation will support the availability and material efficiency of the Kemi bioproduct mill, increase flexibility in raw material usage and support the mill’s planned production levels,” says CEO Ismo Nousiainen, Metsä Fibre.
The project continues the long-standing cooperation between Metsä Fibre and Andritz. Andritz has previously delivered several key production technologies, including the fibre line, to Metsä Fibre’s Äänekoski bioproduct mill.
