In a few weeks, German measuring instrument manufacturer emtec Electronic will present its latest innovations for determining the zeta potential in the wet-end of paper production and for measuring softness of hygiene products at CIDPEX 2026 in Nanjing, China.
For the first time in years, emtec Electronic will be attending this year´s CIDPEX China International Disposable Paper Expo from April 15 to 17. Together with its long-standing partner Hu Yuntao from Shanghai Forest & Paper Scientific Instrument at booth 8J08, the company will present its latest testing solutions for zeta potential and softness analysis at the world´s largest exhibition for paper and nonwoven hygiene products.
The focus of the trade fair presentation will also be on proven measuring devices that are used worldwide in research, development, and quality assurance:
The CAS Charge Analyzing System enables precise determination of the charge properties of particles in process water. The exact analysis of cationic and anionic charges helps paper manufacturers to optimize chemical processes in a targeted manner and increase the efficiency of chemical use.
The FPA Fiber Potential Analyzer can be used to measure the surface charge of fibers (zeta potential) in the suspension, providing valuable information about fiber capacity and chemical interactions. This data is crucial for optimizing retention systems and improving paper quality.
One highlight is the new TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer, a unique measuring system for objectively determining the haptic properties of tissue and nonwovens. The TSA enables manufacturers to reproducibly quantify parameters such as softness, smoothness and handfeel. The redesign of the device allows for more intuitive handling thanks to its touchscreen and offers additional options for measuring air permeability and thermohaptics, as well as a high-resolution camera.
Special emphasis will be placed at CIDPEX on the FPO Fiber Potential Analyzer Online, the process-integrated version of the proven FPA. This system enables continuous and automatic measurement of fiber potential directly in the production process. Real-time monitoring allows process fluctuations to be detected at an early stage and chemical dosages to be dynamically adjusted. This significantly improves process stability, product quality, and resource efficiency.
“With the FPO, we are bringing zeta potential measurement from the laboratory directly into the process. This opens up completely new possibilities for paper manufacturers in terms of process control and optimization, and leads to considerable time savings,” explains Daniel Ohndorf (emtec Electronic).
Visitors to CIDPEX 2026 are cordially invited to visit Shanghai Forest & Paper Scientific Instrument at booth 8J08 to learn more about emtec Electronic´s measurement solutions and get to know the devices in detail. www.emtec-electronic.de
