$30 Million Annually Pledged to Conserve and Restore 1 Million Hectares of Indonesia’s Rainforests New Forest Positive Policy Unveiled
In a significant step towards its long-term sustainability goals, APP Group last week announced the launch of ‘Regenesis’, its
new sustainability platform, underpinned by an ambitious pledge of US$30 million annually over the next 10 years. A cornerstone of this initiative is the conservation and restoration of 1 million hectares of critical ecosystems reinforcing APP Group’s leadership in sustainable forest management and climate action.
Regenesis also underscores APP Group’s alignment with Indonesia’s Biodiversity Strategic Action Plan (IBSAP) 2025–2045, launched by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) together with the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and
Ministry of Environment. This reflects APP’s support for the Government of Indonesia’s efforts to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainability.

Through this new sustainability platform, APP Group will showcase its commitment to conserving and restoring the forests and biodiversity that underpin its business, while also managing carbon, driving innovation in production, empowering communities, and fostering partnerships to advance sustainable development.

Introducing the Forest Positive Policy
As the first milestone under Regenesis, APP Group is proud to unveil its new Forest Positive Policy. This policy builds on the legacy of the company’s Forest Conservation Policy (FCP) and represents a deeper commitment to conservation and restoration into all aspects of APP Group’s operations and value chain.
The Forest Positive Policy is structured around three core pillars:
- Forests: Conserve and restore 1 million hectares of landscape ecosystems across APP Group’s value chain, ensuring positive ecological and biodiversity outcomes through investment in sustainable landscape management and active restoration.
- People: Empower communities, uphold human rights, and care for people through inclusive development and fair labour practices across their value chain.
- Value Chain: Create shared value for nature, climate, and APP Group’s value chain through responsible supplier anagement and customer engagement.

To support this policy, APP Group will implement rigorous monitoring systems, transparent reporting practices, form a new restoration unit and external advisory panel, as well as consult independent scientific and expert advisory bodies to
ensure real, measurable outcomes. APP Group will also collaborate with partners to lead and guide its conservation and restoration efforts across its operations and the landscapes in which it operates. This approach is designed to create lasting
environmental and social value across its operations and supplier network.
Over the next 24 months, APP will continue to develop and strengthen its people and production policies, ensuring that they meet global standards.
