Sofidel selects Valmet Advantage ViscoNip press to improve paper properties and runnability


High efficiency, runnability and improved tissue quality were key factors for Sofidel when they decided rebuilding their TM 3 in Kisa Sweden. Valmet was granted the order thanks to the Advantage ViscoNip press well proven flexibility and capability to increase runnability, uniformity and paper properties. The new Advantage ViscoNip press will replace the existing shoe press in TM3.

After the rebuild the machine will have wider flexibility to control and fine tune the pressing parameters and thereby reach high dryness level and improve paper properties and runnability.

Moreover, this investment is also in line with Sofidel environmental policy  and  with our new investment in this plant with the syngas adoption as a further step for the net zero emission target” says Massimiliano Vannucchi, Sofidel Chief Operating Officer

Start-up is planned for latter part of 2022.

Valmet has previously delivered 15 tissue machines and several rebuild projects to Sofidel mills over the world.

 The delivery will comprise of press rebuild including an Advantage ViscoNip press. Complete engineering, installation, installation supervision, training, start-up and commissioning are included in the delivery.
