Condat (Lecta group) is studying the possible conversion of its PM 4 to glassine paper

In recent months, the French mill of Condat (Lecta group) has been forced to take short-time working measures, sometimes on its two machines simultaneously, due to a drop in orders caused by a drastic fall in the market for coated paper and the rising cost of raw materials and energy. The future of PM 4, which produces coated paper, is also under discussion. It could be converted to glassine production, as is the case with PM 8. Experts from Vision Hunters, with the support of the Swedish engineering firm Rejlers, visited the mill in April to assess the current state of affairs and to study a possible conversion of PM 4. The firm is expected to give a first overview of the amount at the end of May or beginning of June, followed by a more precise report at the end of June or beginning of July.
