XXXIV International Congress & ExpoAcotepac 2026 in Cali, Colombia

The Colombian Association of Pulp, Paper and Paperboard Industry Technicians (ACOTEPAC) is holding its 34th International Congress and ExpoAcotepac on February 25, 26 and 27, 2026, at the Salón Ritz of the Hotel Dann Carlton in Cali, Colombia.

Under the theme “Towards an Intelligent, Sustainable and People-Centred Paper Industry”, the three-day event brought together a large and enthusiastic crowd of industry professionals from across Latin America and beyond, confirming once again the congress’s status as one of the most important annual gatherings for the pulp, paper and tissue sector in the region.

The technical programme was particularly rich, with more than 30 presentations covering key topics such as energy optimisation, sustainability, water management, tissue machine efficiency, alternative fibres, decarbonisation and digitalisation. Leading global suppliers including Valmet, Voith, Andritz, ABB, Solenis, Ecolab, Kadant, Vyncke and many others took the floor, alongside academic contributors such as the University of North Carolina.

The event was held in both in-person and virtual formats with simultaneous translation, broadening its reach well beyond the host country.

The ExpoAcotepac exhibition, running alongside the congress, featured over 60 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest technologies and solutions for the industry, drawing steady crowds throughout the three days.

On the social side, delegates enjoyed a lively programme that included a Welcome Cocktail hosted by ACOTEPAC on the opening evening, as well as the much-anticipated Industry Integration Party on Thursday night — both of which provided excellent networking opportunities in a warm and festive atmosphere.

The congress also featured a plant visit to Sonoco de Colombia on Tuesday, February 24, ahead of the official opening, and the launch of ACOTEPAC’s new “Troubleshooting Guide for Paper Machines”, a practical technical resource aimed at operators, technicians and engineers across the Latin American industry.
