At its meeting on 23 October 2025, the Supervisory Board of Metsäliitto Cooperative, the parent company of Metsä Group, elected Juha Vanhainen as a new member of the Board of Directors as of 1 January 2026.
Vanhainen has served as CEO of the food industry company Apetit and held several international executive positions and served as a member of the Group Executive Team at Stora Enso. He is a Board member of Metsä Board and Ponsse.
Board members Jussi Linnaranta and Mikko Mäkimattila, whose terms were expiring, were re-elected to continue as members of the Board.
