Testing equipment for the optimization of pulp, paper, and board processing on site at IMPS 2022

The 30th annual International Munich Paper Symposium (IMPS) will once again meet on May 23-25, 2022 in Munich, Germany. Paper and board professionals will come from near and far to present the latest technological advancements and exchange ideas. Emtec Electronic will be on site to present technical solutions to optimize resource use.

Environmental concerns and raw material shortages are forcing many companies to be strategic about navigating future challenges. An efficient use of resources, which leads to cost savings and less environmental impact, continues to be a predominant topic among paper and board manufacturers. At the same time, as demand increases, the performance of paper and cardboard products must meet high standards.

This year’s IMPS conference will explore the general topic of “Progress in Paper and Board” and features many presentations from paper and board mills to present the latest developments in the field. In addition, technology developers and machine manufacturers serving the paper, board, and tissue industries also play prominent roles at the technical conference to showcase the latest in technological innovations.

One of these companies will be Leipzig-based emtec Electronic GmbH. Emtec develops and manufactures specialized testing and measuring devices that detect relevant processing properties of paper, tissue paper, and board, which in turn allows for more precise regulation and quality control. The product portfolio offers innovative and practical solutions for quality assurance, process optimization, troubleshooting, complaint management and product development in both the wet and dry areas of production.

Area Sales Manager Stefan Rübesam will be on site to explain the measuring principles, answer questions, and give demonstrations of the different equipment. The following solutions will be on display:

  • CAS touch! Charge Analyzing System – to determine particle charge
  • FPA touch! Fiber Potential Analyzer – to determine zeta potential
  • TSA Tissue Softness Analyzer – to determine hand-feel along the haptic parameters softness, smoothness, and stiffness
  • ACA Ash Content Analyzer – a quick, nondestructive method to determine mineral filler content
  • PDA.C 02 Penetration Dynamics Analyzer & EST Surface & Sizing Tester – to detect the surface properties of paper and board for predicting gluability, printability and coating ability
