TappiCon 2024 in Cleveland: Rock the Roll!

This week, in Cleveland, the annual TappiCon is bringing together over 1400 of its members. Cleveland, famously known as the birthplace of Rock and Roll, serves as the host city for this gathering.

The keynote address was delivered by Bob Chapman, CEO of the Barry-Wehmiller group. It was a truly inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of leading with care, resembling almost a preaching session.

The PIMA’s panel consisted of Ken Liu, CEO of ND Paper North America, Jean-David Tardif, COO of Cascades Tissue, and Rusty Miller, SVP at Graphic Packaging. They convened to discuss the long-term future of our industry. The prevailing sentiment among these industry leaders remains highly optimistic. They believe that the demand for sustainable paper-based products will continue to thrive as long as recycling processes undergo continuous improvement.

Among the 130 companies exhibiting in the exhibition hall, ABB stands out prominently with its renowned truck display. Additionally, Moveroll showcases its hydraulic roll handling system, while Kadant presents a full-scale upcycling equipment. Notably, Valmet, Voith, and JMC Paper Tech are also prominently featured, further enriching the exhibition.

Once again, this year’s conference program is packed with diverse topics including AI, safety, mill optimization, coatings, and more. The traditional Runnability Fun Run, scheduled along the lake, is expected to draw the most athletic attendees for a refreshing morning jog by the lakeside.
