Patrick Sombret will take over as director of Atip (The French Technical Association of the Paper Industry) from 1 August, succeeding Isabelle Margain , who is now director of the Training Department at Unidis (Union inter-secteurs papiers cartons pour le dialogue et l’ingénierie sociale ; i.e. Inter-sectors Union of paper and board for dialogue and social engineering). A Pagora engineer, Patrick Sombret has spent his entire career in the paper industry, notably as a paper site manager at Tembec and then Fibre Excellence. The Atip Board of Directors has given him its full confidence to carry out the association’s projects for the paper industry. His first tasks will be to organise the “Energy of the Future” Technical Day on 29 and 30 September at the EDF R&D Centre in Saclay (South of Paris), the Paper Industry Day next 23 November in Paris (in partnership with Copacel), and to define the scope of the 2022 Congress.
