New Board member: Dr. Thorben Finken will be the new Chief Financial Officer of Progroup AG

Dr. Thorben Finken will be appointed to the Executive Board of Progroup on 1 October 2025. On 15 October 2025, he will take over the role of Chief Financial Officer from Dr. Volker Metz, who is leaving the company at the end of the year.

“We would like to thank Dr. Metz for his loyalty and the key role he has played in recent years. His contribution has been crucial to our growth. At the same time, we are absolutely delighted to have appointed Dr. Finken, who is a proven leader with international experience and an established expert with an in-depth knowledge of the financial markets. I’m very confident that he will be a key force in driving the future development of our company,” says Maximilian Heindl, Chief Executive Officer of Progroup AG.

Working with him and his colleagues on the Executive Board, Vinzenz Heindl (CSO), Beate Flamm (CCO) and Dr. Marc Sesterhenn (COO), Finken will continue to drive forward the company’s focus on ensuring it has a secure future.

He stresses: “Particularly in a challenging economic environment, as well as focusing on strict cost controlling, it’s important to demonstrate reliability, clear priorities and forward-looking financial management. Progroup has a very strategic and entrepreneurial approach that combines a high level of expertise with a long-term mindset. This is what impressed me. I look forward to working with the Executive Board team to shape the company’s future so that we can resolutely drive forward its sustainable growth on a financially solid basis.”

Dr. Thorben Finken holds a doctorate in business administration and has more than 25 years of leadership experience in roles with financial responsibility, focusing on strategic corporate development and transformation. He began his career at McKinsey & Comp., and then spent over 15 years in leadership roles at The Linde Group, including as CFO UK & Africa. He has also held positions at Olympus Europe, including as COO Europe, and most recently the position of Group CFO at the Prym Group.
