Lucca is hosting the 32nd edition of MIAC, the International Exhibition of the Paper Industry, from October 7 to 9, and the show floor is already buzzing. It’s the foremost event for technologies, machinery and services for paper mills and tissue converters.
On Tuesday, October 6, the evening before the show opened, BW Converting hosted a social event near Lucca’s city walls for customers and partners. Guests, mainly from Europe, the Middle East and Africa, gathered for a cocktail reception in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It was an ideal warm-up for the three busy days ahead, and a good opportunity to reconnect with the industry before the stands welcomed visitors.
Across the exhibition grounds, some 250 exhibiting companies from around the globe are showcasing their solutions and innovations for paper production and tissue paper converting, all gathered under one roof. For mills, converters and equipment suppliers alike, the event is an opportunity to meet face to face and discuss new projects and partnerships. Our favorite spot has been the Runtech booth, a traditional meeting point for the regulars, with some exquisite food and warm welcome from the team.
Beyond the stands, visitors can attend technical conferences on the trends and technologies shaping the global paper industry. The show also plays a strong networking role, in a region that is Europe’s leading hub for paper manufacturing.
The show ends tomorrow, Friday, October 9: there is still time to visit.
