Innovations in the Paper Industry: ABB’s Pulp&Paper European Tour to arrive in France in early june

Once again, ABB teams will be meeting with paper and pulp industry professionals to showcase our vision for the future of this essential industrial sector. Since the beginning of the year, ABB’s Pulp&Paper 2024 tour has been criss-crossing Europe and will be making a stop in France from June 3rd to 14th.

Specially designed for this purpose, ABB’s Pulp&Paper demonstration truck travels directly to customer production sites to showcase its dedicated technological innovations. Thanks to its proven solutions, ABB supports papermakers in their expansion or modernization projects and helps them increase their competitiveness, achieve the highest quality standards and reduce their energy consumption.

An Innovative European Tour

ABB’s Pulp&Paper tour presents a fully automated, optimized and connected factory environment, along with equipment for paper machine operators and laboratories, all on board a truck.

The offerings include:

  • A suite of ABB Ability™ digital solutions that leverage production site data to optimize processes and energy performance, and visualize all key indicators on a user-friendly dashboard.
  • Applications covering order management, production planning and quality management to provide the efficiency and visibility needed to optimize production through the ABB Ability™ Manufacturing Execution System.
  • The entire integrated package is controlled by the Extended Operator Workplace (EOW) environment of the ABB Ability™ 800xA system, which can be integrated with paper mill control systems and many other advanced solutions.
  • And also laboratory elements such as the Autoline, the flagship product of the Lorentzen&Wettre range of measuring instruments, which reliably and automatically processes a whole series of essential measurements to attest to product quality.

“The ABB Pulp&Paper traveling showroom is a true showcase of our expertise and know-how serving the paper industry. Everywhere it has been, the concept has been highly appreciated and we are pleased to be able to work alongside our customers to improve their productivity and profitability while limiting their environmental footprint. Thanks to our innovative technologies, we are able to meet their main concerns,” said Alain Pitte, Director of Process Automation Process Industries at ABB France and member of the steering committee of ATIP – Technical Association of the Paper Industry.

In June, the truck will travel through the North and North-West regions of France before continuing its journey to Germany and other European destinations.
