As in the past years, Heinzel Group supported the Teach for Austria week in Vienna again in 2020, and for the first time also in Upper Austria.
Heinzel Holding CFO Barbara Potisk-Eibensteiner spent a math lesson with 23 students of the NMS Enkplatz secondary school. Using practical examples from the paper industry, for example in sales, purchasing and logistics, it was demonstrated how important arithmetic is at work and that math plays a role in any profession.
At the NMS 6 Vogelweide secondary school in Wels, Laakirchen Papier CEO Thomas Welt explained the sustainable cycle from recovered paper to the finished product to disposal. In addition, he presented different job profiles in the paper industry ranging from apprentice and skilled worker to executive. The influence of social media and digitalization on the paper industry was also discussed.
Heinzel Group has supported the independent, non-profit education initiative “Teach for Austria” since 2012. The initiative creates future opportunities for children and young people from socio-economically disadvantaged families.
