B2A Technology wins the Grand Prix in the “Rois de la Supply Chain 2019”

B2A Technology (Alstef and BA Systèmes) was awarded, with its customer Banque de France*, Argon Consulting (project management support to the logistics process) and Axeflow (prime contractor for the logistics process) with the Grand Prix of the Kings of the Supply Chain 2019 for the design and realization of the new automated fiduciary center in Paris-La Courneuve. This prize was awarded on January 17 at the Cirque d’Hiver, during the 13th ceremony of the Kings of the Supply Chain, organized by the French Supply Chain Magazine.

An integrated logistics chain in the largest safe and vault in Europe

This prize rewards 5 years of work that have been required to make the new site and largest fiduciary center in Europe, a real automated safe. To meet this challenge, B2A Technology has shown its great agility in this very demanding context and offered a customized automated logistics process meeting the very high level of safety required to handle the flows of more than one billion banknotes per year.

Productivity and customer service requirements

One of the primary objectives of this outstanding project is to provide a safe and effective service to fund carriers by receiving, sorting and processing the values of the banks, and by delivering orders to supply cash dispensers. To achieve this, a complex logistics process has been designed and implemented around banknote sorting machines. The solution is based on two automated warehouses (pallets and parcels), a networkRetour ligne manuel
of conveyors and AGVs (BA Systèmes’ Automated Guided Vehicles), goods to person order picking stations and mixed palletizing / depalletizing robots.
Process automation allows to increase the overall productivity of the center with very short preparation times (less than 3 hours) while improving receiving and safety conditions and strengthening the level of service provided to institutions.

A reliable and safe information system

The control of the installation is ensured by Stockware® management software developed by Alstef and interfaced with Banque de France’s WMS. The infrastructure created guarantees the integrity, availability, confidentiality and traceability of the processed data.
Ahead of the implementation of this reliable and robust information system, advanced emulation and simulation tests have been carried out to check all the process’ functionalities, including in degraded modes, since no service interruption could be tolerated.

“We are proud to receive this award alongside Banque de France, Argon Consulting and Axeflow. The automation of Paris – La Courneuve fiduciary center was an exciting project both in terms of its scope and the technical challenges it has raised. This realization demonstrates B2A Technology Group’s ability to deploy increasingly integrated and high-performance automated solutions and support its customers in any of their projects”, said Pierre Marol, President of B2A Technology.
