Valmet will provide extensive modernization services for the recovery boiler and evaporation plant at Södra Mönsterås pulp mill in Sweden. The delivery supports the mill’s annual maintenance program and improves operational reliability, safety, and long-term performance while reducing the risk of unplanned downtime.

The order is included in Valmet’s orders received for the third quarter of 2026. The value of the order is not disclosed. The modernization works at the mill will take place during the mill’s annual shutdown in November 2026.
Comprehensive services support long-term operational availability
Valmet will provide extensive services for the recovery boiler in order to improve reliability, safety, and operational availability. These include, for example, inspections, replacement of pressure parts, maintenance works, upgrades for a new safety system, Smelt-X equipment and spare parts.
For the evaporation plant, Valmet will provide the replacement of a tank head and flash tank together with inspection and maintenance services. The project supports efficient operation and helps maintain the long-term performance of critical process equipment.
