Antalis partners up with Two Sides to demonstrate its love for paper

Antalis, Europe’s leading distributor of paper, launches its own Love Paper campaign with the help of the Pacote de Açùcar Design studio to demonstrate its love for paper and reiterate its commitment towards long term partner and international association Two Sides.

Created in 2008 by members of the graphic industry throughout Europe, Two Sides aims to ensure, in a world of limited resources, that the unique qualities of paper and print – their recyclable and renewable dimension – are seen as an advantage for future generations. To this end, in 2012 the association launched “LovePaper” a global campaign promoting the sustainable and attractive attributes of print, paper and paper packaging.

Just in time for Valentine’s day and as part of Antalis’ commitment to Two Sides, Antalis has also decided to launch a campaign to actively support the LovePaper campaign and to promote its love for paper in its own way. To do so, Antalis decided to team up with Portuguese paper artists, Raquel Marques and Pedro Leitao from the studio Pacote de Açùcar in order to create three beautiful stop motion movies titled Antalis Loves Paper (Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3) for social media, the “Love Paper” logo for brands using paper or cardboard and the “Love Paper” box to demonstrate the paper’s potential for artistic expression.

The three creative and fun videos in stop motion were entirely made with Arjowiggins Papers: Keaykolour, Pop’Set and Rives to illustrate life and energy within paper. The “Love Paper” logo from Two Sides is made available to the publishers, magazines and newspapers, as well as brands to be affixed to their communications and cardboard packaging to highlight and explain the sustainable nature of the material they have chosen to use.

Antalis challenged our design studio to create a creative story about the love of paper, using the material we enjoy the most to work with. Being such true paper lovers ourselves, we accepted this job with great enthusiasm and came up with a simple premise: to show that love, as it happens with paper, has endless possibilities and can exist in many forms” explain Raquel Marques and Pedro Leitao from the studio Pacote de Açùcar.

“At Antalis we always want to reiterate our appreciation and the importance of paper as we believe deeply that paper remains one of the most valued and sustainable communication tools and the most responsible way to package and protect products” says Xavier Jouvet, Group Marketing & Purchasing Director at Antalis “Through this campaign, we want to invite any company willing to use paper and cardboards to display this logo for their own communication needs.”

“Paper, made from trees, is a natural, renewable and recyclable material. With consumers ever more conscious of their environmental impacts, Love Paper reassures and explains how paper and cardboard is the natural and sustainable choice” affirms Jonathan Tame, Managing Director, Two Sides. “We are extremely pleased Antalis are supporting the campaign as, together, we must convey this message as far and widely as possible and reach new audiences.”

The website (lovepaper.org) provides information on sustainable forestry, the manufacture of paper from natural and renewable resources, its high recycling rate, as well as a series of activities to be carried out with paper to relieve users of their exposure in front of the screens.
