A severe fire has broken out at Italian coreboard producer Industria Cartaria Pieretti (ICP), located in Marlia near Lucca. The blaze caused substantial damage to key production areas, forcing a complete halt of operations at the site.
According to company estimates, manufacturing is expected to remain suspended for several months while damage assessments and repairs are carried out. This prolonged shutdown is likely to strain the European core and coreboard supply chain.
