Sofidel partners with Plastic Free for a waste collection initiative in Porcari.

Sofidel, a world leader in the production of paper for hygienic and domestic use, and known for its Regina brand, promoted a clean-up initiative this morning in the Municipality of Porcari, in collaboration with the Municipal Administration and Plastic Free , a volunteer organization committed to combating plastic pollution since 2019.

The initiative saw the participation of 80 Sofidel employees , the CEO , Luigi Lazzareschi, and the President , Paola Stefani, who, together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Porcari , Leonardo Fornaciari, the Deputy Mayor , Roberta Menchetti, the Councilors Eleonora Lamandini and Madalina Elena Golea and the 4th grade classes of the “Felice Orsi” and “Giorgio La Pira” primary schools, dedicated themselves to collecting abandoned waste in the area surrounding Via Luigi Boccherini and in the Fiamme Gialle Park, between Via Cavanis and Via Galileo Galilei.

The morning of volunteering concluded with a total of approximately  two and a half tons of waste collected , which was delivered for recycling, helping to restore decorum to the public spaces involved.

This initiative is part of the calendar of activities promoted by Sofidel to celebrate its first 60 years of history and with which the company intends to reaffirm its deep bond with the community of Porcari , which is home to the Group’s headquarters.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Porcari and Plastic Free ODV Onlus.
