ANDRITZ has opened a new service hub in Germany following the acquisition of selected assets from Wehrle-Werk AG’s boiler and grate service business.
Effective November 2025, the hub expands ANDRITZ’s service activities in energy and heat production for environmental waste utilization plants across German-speaking markets.
The acquisition includes intellectual property, technical know-how, tools and inventory. In addition, ANDRITZ will integrate Wehrle’s specialists in boiler and grate services into its existing service organization in Emmendingen. The new hub strengthens ANDRITZ’s service capabilities for grate-fired boilers – particularly in the waste-incineration and waste-to-energy segments – while ensuring continuity for current customers.
Focus on service continuity and technical expertise
By combining the acquired technical expertise with ANDRITZ’s established service network, customers benefit from enhanced local support and expanded service capacity for inspection, repair, and modernization.
“Opening this service hub marks an important step in reinforcing our commitment to customer success,” said Martin Pogoreutz, Vice President Power Plant Service at ANDRITZ Pulp & Paper. “By bringing Wehrle’s expertise into our organization, we are enhancing our local presence and further developing service solutions together with our customers in the energy and waste-to-energy sectors.”
Existing customers will continue to work with their familiar contacts. Services will continue to be provided from Emmendingen, Germany. The scope includes spare and wear parts, field services, retrofits, upgrades for grate-fired boilers as well as fluidized bed systems for mono-incineration of municipal sewage sludge.
