Paperex 2025 concludes with strong global participation and sustainability focus

Today marks the conclusion of Paperex 2025, the 17th edition of the international exhibition and conference, the world’s largest show dedicated to the pulp, paper, packaging and allied industries, held from 3–6 December at Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi. Organised by Informa Markets in India in collaboration with Indian Agro & Recycled Paper Mills Association (IARPMA) and supported by World Paper Forum, the event once again stood out as a global hub for industry players, technology providers, buyers and policymakers.

Inaugural session: a global commitment to sustainability

The inaugural session on December 3 opened at 9:30 a.m. and set the tone for the days ahead with discussions centred on sustainable growth of paper, packaging and allied industries. The keynote address — delivered by the President & CEO of a major Scandinavian fibre-resource group, Mikael Forslund — underscored how sustainability and circular economy must guide the future of paper manufacturing globally.

The keynote was followed by a high-level CEO-round panel discussion, gathering heads of leading paper and packaging companies from across the world. Their shared message was clear: as environmental concerns mount and global demand evolves, the paper industry must accelerate adoption of eco-friendly practices, invest in alternate fibres and innovative technologies, and strengthen cross-border collaboration.

Representatives from major Indian industry associations and international firms also participated — reinforcing the event’s commitment to bridging domestic capabilities with global standards.

Global expo: scope and participation

Paperex 2025 lived up to its reputation as the world’s largest paper-industry event: the expo hosted over 700 exhibitors from more than 25 countries (some reports citing participation from 27–28 countries), showcasing the full spectrum of paper, packaging, tissue and allied industries.

Exhibitors presented everything from raw-material supply chains, paper-mill machinery and automation, to packaging solutions, printing and converting technologies — making it a one-stop global marketplace.

The visitor response was notable: more than 33,000 trade visitors — comprising mill operators, converters, traders, packaging firms, equipment suppliers, and technology providers — are reported to have attended over the four days.

Prominent industry names such as JK Paper, TNPL, Trident Group, BILT Graphic Paper, APRIL Fiber Resource, Andhra Paper, Orient Paper and West Coast Paper represented a broad cross-section of producers, converters and suppliers, underlining the breadth and depth of participation.

A milestone for the global paper industry

After more than three decades of legacy, Paperex continues to serve as the definitive global forum for paper and allied industries. This year’s edition reinforced the industry’s ongoing shift toward sustainable manufacturing, circular economy practices, and cross-border collaboration — while offering unparalleled opportunities for business networking, technology transfer, and market expansion.

As Paperex 2025 closes tonight, participants leave New Delhi with not only new business leads, but shared commitments to innovation, sustainability and the future of the global paper value chain.
