Fastmarkets Forest Products, the world’s leading provider of pricing data and analytics for the pulp, paper, and packaging industries, announced that Cristiano Teixeira, CEO of Klabin, has been named the 2025 Latin American CEO of the Year.
This is the second year in a row that the executive is named for the award, given Klabin’s continuous strong financial performance while delivering new projects.
In 2024, Klabin completed 125 years of history, reporting net revenues of 20 billion Reais ($3.5 billion), a 9% increase from 2023, with a strong cash generation focusing on deleveraging.
Under Teixeira’s leadership, Klabin started up last year its Piracicaba II Unit, known as the Figueira Project, one of the largest and most modern corrugated packaging plants in the Americas, with an annual production capacity of 240,000 tonnes.
Another project in the pipeline is the 1.7 billion Reais investment for the modernization of the Monte Alegre paper mill in Telêmaco Borba, Paraná, with the installation of a new recovery boiler, aiming for environmental benefits, operational efficiency, and competitiveness.
Teixeira was selected by financial analysts who cover the Latin American pulp and paper industry who praised the executive’s “qualities and vision” necessary to achieve great results and contribute significantly to the development of Klabin’s new projects.
One analyst mentioned: “Teixeira led good decisions to reduce the dividend policy and focus on deleveraging after a strong CAPEX cycle. Klabin is now reaping the projects rewards.”
Under Teixeira’s guidance since 2017, Klabin has experienced significant growth in this period,
In 2023, the CEO was also recognized by market participants at the Fastmarkets’ PPI Awards ceremony, when he was chosen the International CEO of the Year – a global recognition for his achievements in the industry.
Teixeira will receive the Latin America CEO of the Year Award at the Fastmarkets Forest Products conference 2025 that will take place in São Paulo between August 11-13. At the conference, he will also share a discussion panel with Bradesco BBI’s Head of LatAm Metals & Mining, Pulp & Paper, and Cement, Rafael Barcellos.
