Valmet is to deliver a furnace upgrade, along with a long-term service agreement, to Eren Holding’s Shotton Mill in the UK. The furnace upgrade will be delivered by the end of 2025.
The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2025. The value of the order will not be disclosed.
The majority of the mill’s bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler furnace will be covered with coated panels that create a protective layer on the surface, resisting corrosion and erosion and thereby extending the furnace’s lifetime. Additionally, Valmet will support the customer with a long-term service agreement including site inspection services.
“We are delighted to continue strengthening our partnership with Valmet as they deliver this vital furnace upgrade and long-term service agreement to Shotton Mill,” says Mehmet Arel, Energy Manager, Shotton Mill Limited.
“We are very pleased to be awarded the furnace upgrade and are looking forward to safely and successfully delivering the project for Shotton Mill. The service agreement will further strengthen our cooperation with the customer, enabling us to develop the mill’s operations together over the coming years,” says Nigel Earp, Service Manager, EMEA Area, Valmet.
Valmet’s delivery includes a furnace upgrade with specially coated panels. The service agreement provides inspection services and a tailored online training package for the mill’s employees.
