Valmet : Successful start-up of Anhui Linping’s board line PM 8

On March 6, 2026, Anhui Linping Circular Development successfully started up its new OptiConcept M board making line PM 8. As the first complete board production line supplied by Valmet to Anhui Linping, the investment advances its capacity expansion and sustainability goals and supports the circular economy ambitions by enabling the use of recycled fiber in high-quality board grades.

“I am delighted with the successful start-up of PM 8. I sincerely thank both teams for their hard work and relentless efforts to overcome any challenges. This milestone achievement is the best testament to the collaboration and trust between the two teams. With Valmet’s technology, we aim to achieve the goals of energy consumption reduction and capacity increase, providing support for the company’s business expansion strategy. We look forward to continuing to optimize the line after start-up, working together to further improve PM 8’s performance and profitability,”says Jianshe Li, Chairman at the Anhui Linping Circular Development.

“I sincerely thank both teams for all the efforts and contributions to the PM 8 project.  During project execution, both teams maintained effective communication and collaboration, ensuring the steady progress of the project. During construction, Anhui Linping faced the challenge of delays in civil works, but quickly adjusted construction plans, coordinated resources, and ultimately overcame difficulties, reaching the start-up as scheduled,” says Guangwu Yao, Deputy General Manager at Anhui Linping Circular Development.

“This board production line is a strong example of Valmet’s OptiConcept M technology in China, delivering clear investment value through integrated solutions and lifecycle services. We look forward to deepening our partnership with Anhui Linping to drive containerboard innovation and strengthen China’s high-end packaging market,” says Ze Fan, Vice President of China Capital Sales at Valmet.

“The successful start-up of PM 8 would not have been possible without the full dedication and hard work of Anhui Linping’s project team. We look forward to even closer cooperation in the future, continuing to optimize the project and achieving full capacity and speed for PM 8 as soon as possible,” says Min Zong, Project Manager, Packaging and Paper at Valmet.

Valmet’s delivery for the PM 8 included a complete high-speed containerboard making line from headboxes to reel. The board machine was equipped with OptiFlo Fourdrinier headboxes, an OptiFormer Multi forming section, an OptiPress Center press section, OptiRun Hybrid dryer section, an OptiSizer Film sizer, an OptiCalender Hard calender, and an OptiReel Linear reel.
