Tissue World Europe kicks off in Düsseldorf

After a prolonged absence from the calendars of tissue professionals, Tissue World Europe has returned. This week marks the first time that the European chapter of the conference and exhibition organized by Informa is taking place on German soil, in the city of Düsseldorf.

This year’s conference was opened with a keynote address by Martin Krengel, the CEO of Wepa Group, which is headquartered nearby. He spoke about the challenges of running a family business in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) world. The conference program is packed with market-oriented presentations as well as technical ones, with sustainability issues always at the center of discussion.

The exhibition floor mostly features Italian, German, and Turkish companies showcasing their tissue products or machinery.

Despite the transport strikes in the country, the attendance is at a good level.

During the cocktail party offered by the organizers, a folkloric brass band played music while exhibitors and delegates mingled and enjoyed a friendly atmosphere.

The next Tissue World event is scheduled to take place in Istanbul next November, followed by Miami in January.
