More than 70 people attended the Technical Day organised by Atip on the EDF site in Paris Saclay

After the long period of Covid, French paper manufacturers were obviously very happy to get together to exchange ideas face to face! On 30 September, the Technical Association of the Paper Industry (Atip) organised a Technical Day in collaboration with Copacel’s Energy Commission and the EDF R&D Centre in Paris Saclay, south of Paris. The day before, this centre had opened its doors for a three-hour guided tour.

In total, more than 70 people took part in this technical day devoted to energy, at a time when the context of rising energy prices is currently giving paper manufacturers cold sweats. Several speakers from EDF presented their offer and their vision. Other suppliers were also present: Dalkia, Newheat, SKF and Leroux and Lotz Technologies. Copacel, the Centre Technique du Papier (CTP) and Ademe were also present. Lastly, paper manufacturers shared their experiences and innovations (Rayonier AM Tartas, Blue Paper, Clairefontaine and Fibre Excellence). In addition to the paper industry speakers, representatives from many other paper mills attended the day: Cartonnerie Oudin, Cartonneries de Gondardennes (CGW), Condat, Gemdoubs, Norske Skog Golbey, Papeteries Palm, Papeterie du Léman (PDL), Sofidel, SWM-PDM Industries, Wepa and Zuber Rieder.
