James Cropper invites the world into the home of colour with Coloursource launch

James Cropper, a global market leader in advanced materials and paper products, has reinforced its reputation as the home of colour with the launch of Coloursource – a range of 50 signature shades of paper material available in nine weights and 36 embossed patterns for use across almost any application.
The name – Coloursource – reflects James Cropper’s unmatched expertise in colour, as the first company to develop coloured paper almost 170 years ago. The Coloursource portfolio, comprising 50 vibrant, individually numbered colours, has been developed and refined over decades. Today, James Cropper’s move to unite this portfolio under a unified brand enables customers to go directly to the origin point of colour – literally.
James Cropper has issued an open invitation to any interested party to visit its Burneside Mill – its home for almost two centuries – and experience the colour development process first-hand.
Paul Barber, Managing Director at James Cropper said, “Coloursource is the latest step in a journey decades in the making, and we’re delighted to share it with the world. It is the latest example of how we use our legacy as the originators of colour to drive ourselves forwards, continually pushing boundaries and setting new standards.
“But what’s most important about Coloursource is that it’s not about us. It’s about opening the door to a new spectrum of creativity and opportunity, and letting our customers step through that door with us. Our message is ‘what’s ours is yours’, and we are inviting new and existing customers into our historic Burneside mill so they can collaborate with us, share our stories, and make these colours their own.
“You can still rely on James Cropper to provide unmatched vibrancy, durability, and performance – just as we always have.”
As Coloursource paper is available in nine weights and 36 embossings, it is ideal for diverse applications ranging from stationery to retail bags and packaging to archival materials. For projects that demand bespoke colours, James Cropper’s colour lab also offers a market-leading colour matching service that can develop custom shades.
The new brand will make its trade show debut at Luxe Pack Monaco, held from 29 September to 1 October. Interested parties can arrange for a tour of the James Cropper mill – a UNESCO heritage site – at their convenience.
