Hinojosa Packaging Group finalizes the acquisition of ASV Packaging, a reference player in the French folding carton segment for food and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), boasting over 34 years of experience. This transaction completes the process initiated in July 2023, following the initial acquisition of a 49% stake in the French group.
This integration consolidates Hinojosa’s presence in France and enriches its packaging solutions portfolio. The company now operates seven production sites in the country: one paper mill, three corrugated cardboard plants, and three units specialized in ASV’s folding cartons. Thanks to this operation, 200 new employees join Hinojosa, bringing its total workforce to nearly 3,000 employees.
Simultaneously, Hinojosa strengthens its already comprehensive packaging range in France, which includes folding cartons, trays, e-commerce packaging, and displays. The group establishes itself as a reference player in the folding carton segment, with nine specialized factories distributed across Spain, Portugal, and France. This expansion is supported by a decentralized management model, preserving the autonomy of each site to quickly adapt to local needs and ensure flexible and responsive proximity service.
Innovation and Sustainability: Shared Strategic Focuses
This operation also strengthens their joint commitment to innovation in sustainable packaging. For example, HALOPACK®, the cardboard tray that replaces traditional rigid plastic trays for fresh produce, is produced exclusively by Hinojosa in the Iberian Peninsula and by ASV in France.
Sustainability constitutes another major focus for both companies. They are implementing a strategy aimed at supporting their clients in achieving their ESG objectives and anticipating developments in European regulations. Hinojosa applies principles of ecodesign and circular economy, utilizing recycled materials to reduce the carbon footprint of its packaging.
