Fibre Excellence Tarascon: the process continues

On 14 April, the management of Fibre Excellence made the following statement concerning the Tarascon site, which is in receivership (cf. our previous articles): « Following exchanges over the last few days, the CFDT-CGT inter-union has made additional demands on the Revision Agreement, the signature of which constitutes a suspensive clause of the takeover offer for the Tarascon plant. After discussions, the management decided to accept them in order to ensure the plant’s continued existence. As a result, the inter-union has signed the Revision Agreement. We welcome this responsible decision, which is essential to give the plant a chance, to save its jobs and those of the industry that depend on it. It will put the plant back on the road to viability. If the offer succeeds, these efforts will pay off in the years to come, with the perpetuation of the factory and the jobs, and a success from which all the employees of Tarascon will benefit. We are continuing our discussions with the various stakeholders to work on lifting the various conditions precedent to the offer. The signing of this agreement is an important step forward. » A hearing will be held on 20 April to review the progress of the project. The offer itself will be examined at a later date, which is not yet known.
