FEDRIGONI TOP AWARD 2025 winners announced


Presented yesterday afternoon at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris, the best international creations from designers, publishers, brands, and printers using Fedrigoni paper and self-adhesive materials were unveiled.

Art, ingenuity, and expressiveness. These elements define the extraordinary works showcased at the Fedrigoni Top Award 2025, a competition designed to celebrate design excellence and highlight the creations of those who use Fedrigoni paper and self-adhesive materials to craft unique masterpieces. The winners of this edition were announced yesterday during a ceremony at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris. Five categories: Packaging, Publishing, Label, Creative Communication, and Graphics Applications. Additionally, students and young researchers participated by submitting projects in the Young Talents section.

Designers, printers, publishers, brands, and young creatives from around the world had their projects evaluated by an expert jury, including Simon Esterson (publication designer), Silvana Amato (graphic designer and professor), Paul Boudens (graphic designer), Marianne Givone (Head of Global Content Factory at Diptyque), Gustavo Greco (founder and creative director of Brazilian independent design firm GRECO), Kate Marlow (co-founder of Here, a collective of writers and designers), Melanie Mues (founder of Mues Design studio in London), and Sebastián Yañez (co-founder of YG Branding & Design Experts Agency, now renamed Thingular Creative Partners).

Packaging Category

The winning project “Hera nei campi” (Italia), was inspired by an ancient deity Hera and its historical ties to the region, presented in a packaging design resembling a treasure chest with colors rarely used in the food industry. The second-place is for “Istriana” (Croatia), featuring a bottle packaging design inspired by Roman amphorae. In third place “Whathever” (China), a packaging concept emphasizing conviviality and relaxation. A Fedrigoni special mention was awarded to “I Giardini Medicei” di Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (Italy), a floral-themed perfume packaging for four Eau de Parfum fragrances.

Publishing Category

Three winners shared the top prize – “Dead End”, project by Penisola Edizioni with Antiga Edizioni (Italy), a book which explores past and present of a border between two nations USA and Mexico. “UXUA UTOPIA: A Very Gifted Guesthouse” by UXUA Casa Hotel and Spa (Holland), a book focused on a luxury resort designed by an internationally recognized designer Wilbert Das, reflected a lifestyle promoting creativity in harmony with nature. The third winner “Mezzocane” by Culturgest Foundation (Portugal), a publication dedicated to an Enzo Cucchi exhibition in Lisbon at Culturgest, showcasing paintings, sculptures, and drawings spanning two decades.

Jury Special Mentions

Panorama”, Éditions du livre (France): one book stood out for its vibrant colors, selection of papers, and high-quality printing, featuring an unconventional calendar-like format based on a 24-hour cycle. “Dějiny města Zlína” by Town Zlín (Czech Republic): chronicles the history of the European city Zlin, presented in two volumes with a well-balanced narrative and refined graphic design.

Fedrigoni Special Mention

Dior’s New Spaces 2023, by Dior (France), a publication highlighting architectural elements, presented in a rigid box with a distinctive cut, inspired by the geometric structure of slate rooftops in Paris.

Label Category

The winning label Sentinella, from the Marche-based winery La Lepre e la Luna. The bottles feature a label with simple shapes and a touch of vibrant color, enhanced by the natural texture of 100% cotton paper.
Next is Cline Family Cellars, The Sneak Wines by The Sneak (USA). Inspired by the rebellious character of winemaker Henry Cline, The Sneak is a wine that pays tribute to the courage to defy the status quo, a concept echoed in its refined and minimalist packaging design.
Third place goes to Sulcus – Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Sulcus, a project that perfectly expresses the features and qualities of the native land of this oil, Apulia: the red letters of the name Sulcus rest on a textured label that reflects the rocky landscape and the roughness of land cultivated for generation

Menzione speciale Fedrigoni

 “Laberinto de Cidonia, by UNESDI (Spain), a mysterious name that ideally takes us to the surface of the planet Mars, in the Cydonia region. The labyrinth occupies almost the entire label, distinguished by a high-relief finish and surrounded by six enigmatic symbols, ranging from a face to a pyramid.

Creative Communication Category

The winner is Margaret Lansink & Réne van Hulst: Unbound”, by Dienacht Publishing (Germany). Unbound invites the reader to reconnect with the natural world, setting aside patterns and structures. The book embodies the highly poetic and emotional aesthetics of Margaret Lansink’s photography and Réne van Hulst’s poetry.
Second place goes to Pocket Decision Book by Happy Paper Press (Czech Republic). A small and original tool designed to facilitate decision-making, through a flow of colored pages showing a sequence of YES and NO. Third place: The Art of Frescoes in Florence by St. Regis Florence (Italy). A portable notebook-style guide that takes readers on a journey through some of Florence’s most beautiful frescoes, with an illustrated map of the historic center included. A tool that is not only functional but also elegant.

Fedrigoni Special Mention

“Vlassak Verhulst Portfolio Book”, by Vlassak Verhulst (Belgium). A unique book created with the goal of blending in and completely integrating into a stone. An ambitious challenge, especially in terms of printing.

Categoria Graphics Applications

Chromatic Prism, by Tape Over (Germany). Installed on the Parisian shopping center Les Ateliers Gaîté, Chromatic Prism integrates seamlessly with the illuminated facade, adding an original and recognizable touch. Fifteen artists spent two full weeks applying 15,000 ColourShift ASLAN SE 70 triangles wet-on-wet to a surface of 800 square meters.

Young Talents Category

The winner is Ramasser – Raking, from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre (Belgium). A book that tells stories of rural life across 240 pages, through photos and works by artists such as Van Gogh and Berthe Morisot. Scenes of everyday life of farmers, workers, and artisans captured while holding a rake. Second place: Clean Places!?, Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (Austria). Clean Places is a book documenting the work and results of an initiative to clean the streets of Salzburg. A work

that talks about waste,made with waste and against waste. “Ciceklik – Peeling through a wall of time, by Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee (Germany), takes third place. An insightful analysis of tobacco warehouses built before the last century in Xanthi, a city in northern Greece. A work described as “special” for its thorough documentation and extraordinary typographic differentiation.

 Jury Special Mentions

 “204 Type-Gazette / Issue 4 by Bauhaus Universität Weimar. A university publication showcasing typefaces designed by students of the Typography and Type Design course. The fourth issue is dedicated to the theme of smoke, approached humorously in various aspects. “Futuri passati. I linguaggi della fantascienza nell’editoria tra est e ovest dal 1930 al 1980”, by IUAV University of Venice. The book presents a historical analysis of publishing from 1930 to 1980, aiming to compare Soviet science fiction publishing with its Western counterpart, identifying similarities and differences in graphic languages and studying the influence of cultural context on editorial production.
