CEO of ND Paper Receives TAPPI/PIMA 2024 Executive of the Year Award


TAPPI, the leading technical association for the worldwide pulp, paper, tissue, packaging and converting industries, today announced that Ken Liu, Chief Executive Officer of ND Paper, has been named TAPPI/PIMA Executive of the Year. Among the highest honors bestowed by TAPPI and PIMA, the Executive of the Year Award is presented to senior-level executives in the pulp, paper or converting industries for excellence in management and outstanding contributions to the industry as a whole.

Liu leads the daily operations for the U.S. division of Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited, the largest containerboard producer in China and Asia with $10 billion annual sales.

Headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois, ND Paper serves a global customer base that includes retailers, publishers, packaging converters and commercial printers for paper needs, and manufacturers who require pulp.

Prior to his position as CEO of ND Paper, Liu served as Vice Chairman at America Chung Nam (ACN), Nine Dragons’ sister company and primary supplier. For 15 years, ACN has been America’s largest exporter by container volume and recycles millions of tons of recycled paper every year.

As Vice Chairman at America Chung Nam, Liu oversaw corporate development, market strategy and general management. He was previously a consultant at PwC where he advised leading technology, telecom and banking companies.

Liu attended Columbia Business School and graduated cum laude when he earned his Artium Baccalaureus (Bachelor of Arts) in government from Harvard University.

The award will be presented at TAPPICon, April 28-May 1, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
