Recognized in the paper and specialty packaging segments, the Brazilian producer Grupo Bignardi has chosen Voith to be the full-line supplier of its new production line focused on packaging paper grades.
A traditional manufacturer of printing and writing paper, Grupo Bignardi recently identified specific packaging paper niches that offer an opportunity for the company to reposition its market strategy.
To adapt its plant in the city of Jundiaí, state of São Paulo, for the production of corrugated grades for packaging applications, Grupo Bignardi will install a complete BlueLine stock preparation line from Voith.
Thanks to its improved fiber recovery capabilities, the new production line will enable the company to manufacture packaging paper using raw materials with higher reject contents. The new line will feature Voith’s latest generation of equipment, including the IntensaPulper, IntensaMaxx detrasher, IntensaScreenDrum drum screen, coarse screening, HiClean HCL5 centrifugal cleaners and the EFK Thickener.
In addition to the equipment, the contract also includes basic engineering services, field services, as well as overall project management – a crucial task in complex investments involving many interfaces with numerous suppliers, which will help Bignardi to effectively implement the project and mitigate its risks.
