Norske Skog Skogn is advancing preparations for the launch of its new book paper brand, NOR Book, as it positions itself to enter the European market. Teams across the site are collaborating closely to support the transition, with significant upgrades and operational adjustments underway to enable the production of both newsprint and high-quality book paper on the same machine.
The project represents an investment of NOK 40 million and will provide the mill with the flexibility to produce more than 140,000 tonnes annually. NOR Book will be manufactured using 100% virgin fibre and is designed to deliver low CO₂ emissions in line with industry-leading standards.
Håvard Busklein, Managing Director at Norske Skog Skogn, emphasized that the strong cross-departmental collaboration has been a defining feature of the project. He noted that the high level of engagement and dedication across the organisation is a key factor underpinning confidence as the launch approaches.
The European book paper market remains stable, and Norske Skog Skogn expects to introduce NOR Book to customers in the near future.
