Albany Mexico Seminar opens in Puerto Vallarta

Today marks the opening of the week-long seminar organised by Albany Mexico in the vibrant resort city of Puerto Vallarta, gathering approximately 150 professionals from across the paper, carton and cellulose industry value chain. Attendees include pulp and paper producers, packaging converters, equipment and solution suppliers, and key stakeholders keen to explore market dynamics, technology trends and sustainability strategies. After the Tissue Panel organised last year, this edition is dedicated to brown paper.

Over the next few days, the seminar will deliver a rich agenda of expert-led sessions and peer-to-peer discussions with equipment suppliers like Kadant M-Clean, Runtech, ABB, Firefly, Sulzer, Nalco Water. Topics will cover critical issues such as evolving fibre supply, recycling challenges, cost pressures in containerboard production, innovations in automation and digitalisation, and the ever-pressing imperative of circular economy frameworks. Break-out workshops and panel discussions will allow for deeper dives into specific segments (e.g., kraft and fine papers, specialty packaging), further enhancing the knowledge exchange.

The venue offers an excellent backdrop for such a gathering: beyond the formal programme, the informal networking opportunities on-site are just as important. Whether during coffee breaks, seaside receptions or one-to-one meetings, participants are positioned to build relationships, benchmark practices across geographies, and discuss collaborations that may extend well beyond the week.

For Albany Mexico, hosting this event reinforces its leadership role in the Mexican and Latin American paper and packaging ecosystem. The event also reflects the industry’s ongoing need for dialogue and proactive responses to structural shifts—such as fibre availability, regulatory demands and competitive global supply chains.
