The Fibre Excellence Group and its Fibre Excellence Provence mill, which specializes in the production of unbleached kraft pulp from wood sourced from forests in south-eastern France, announced the launch of a new grade of pulp: UKP-E.
This development is part of the group’s industrial strategy, which aims to become a leading player in southern Europe for kraft pulp by meeting the specific needs of all its customers.
A new quality for a strategic market
This new UKP-E pulp (Unbleached Kraft Pulp for Electrical insulation) has been specifically developed for the manufacture of electrical insulation paper. Thanks to its optimized conductivity, it meets the demanding standards of this strategic market.
These specific qualities are achieved thanks to improvements made to our industrial process by our teams. Like the rest of our range, they are produced from softwood harvested locally, within a 250 km radius of the production site.

Industrial development without additional investment
Since 2020, the Fibre Excellence Provence mill has gradually expanded its range of unbleached kraft pulp (UKP), starting with a grade dedicated to packaging and corrugated paper (UKP-P), followed by a second grade for fiber cement applications (UKP-F).
Building on this expertise, the site continues to innovate by developing a new grade of UKP-E pulp, while leveraging its existing processes: improving cooking parameters and optimizing washing stages. These developments have been achieved through the optimization and research efforts of our teams, without the need for additional machinery investment.
Customer approvals have already been obtained
In less than 18 months, several international industrial customers have already tested and approved the quality and performance of this product. It has been developed in close collaboration with the sales, marketing, and technical teams, who are in constant contact with end users.
“Our teams have put all their expertise into developing these products, in line with the market needs of today and tomorrow. The excellent work carried out at Fibre Excellence Provence in just a few years perfectly illustrates our ambition: to become the leading kraft pulp producer in Southern Europe.”
