AFVP annual seminar returns to Divonne-les-Bains

The French Association of Pulp Suppliers (AFVP) is hosting its awaited annual seminar today, June 19th, 2025, at the prestigious Grand Hôtel in Divonne-les-Bains. This traditional gathering brings together key players from the pulp and paper industry for a day of networking, market insights, and strategic discussions.

This year’s seminar marks a significant milestone for the association as Pierre Bach takes over the presidency from Catherine Vallet, who has successfully led AFVP for the past 15 years or so. The transition represents a new chapter for the organization while maintaining its commitment to serving the French and francophone pulp supply industry.

The event features a diverse program designed to cater to all participants, including the traditional golf tournament and guided walks in the scenic Jura Mountains for non-golfers.

The technical program includes highly anticipated industry presentations:

  • Paul-Antoine Lacour, General Manager of COPACEL, provided EUDR follow-up insights
  • OSAPIENS presented on EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) from a technical and implementation perspective
  • Oliver Lansdell from Hawkins Wright delivered market pulp updates and trends analysis

Adding a cultural dimension to the event, Lorella Santiago from MGS3D will presented the innovative “Modéligrapie concept,” focusing on heritage enhancement of monuments in Eastern France, particularly in Nancy.

The seminar concludes with a dinner-cocktail on the hotel terrace, providing an informal setting for continued discussions and relationship building among industry professionals.

This annual gathering reinforces AFVP’s role as a vital platform for the French pulp supply community, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing in an evolving market landscape.
